The Downieville edition of the Banff Film Festival will be arriving on April 3rd through April 5th this year. We’re already getting reservation requests for those dates, so contact us soon! Visit the Sierra County Arts Council for more information. Tickets go on sale on February 20th, 2015.

On February 21, we have “Home Grown Talent”, an open mic night at 7:30 p.m. at the Yuba Theatre. See the Sierra County Arts Council for more information.

Before heading out to our talent show, get dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the annual “Cabin Fever All You Can Eat Spaghetti Feed”, hosted by the Downieville Volunteer Fire Department. Early Summer is here and our pool is clear and refreshing! We've got brand new propane barbecue grills, so bring your favorite cuts of meat for a relaxing afternoon or evening with us. We're hearing that the fishing in Downieville has so far been better than it's been in a long time. It's not too hot right now, with a nice early Summer breeze keeping things comfortable. There are wild sweet peas in bloom all along the highway too.

It's going to be a busy Summer here in Downieville:

On July 4th, there will be an old-fashioned parade in Downieville. At the end of the parade, there's a big bubble-wrap popping ceremony for our version of "fire-less fireworks". It's a lot of fun, come on out if you can. After the parade, there's a series of foot races with prizes for the winners. The Sierra County Chamber of Commerce has some more details on this. Later in the evening, we'll have a "Home-Grown Talent Show" at 7:30 p.m. at the Yuba Theatre, and there's more information on this available at the Yuba Theatre's website.

On July 5th, in the evening, there's the Firemen's Muster, BBQ, and Line Dance right in the middle of Main Street. Arrive early for line dancing lessons. It's a ton of fun with a street full of dancing and BBQ. Visit the Sierra County Chamber of Commerce's website for more information on this one.

Registration for the world-famous Downieville Classic bike race begins on August 1st from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and continues again Saturday morning from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., with registration firmly closing at 9. You can pre-register at http://www.downievilleclassic.com/pages/registration.html.

On September 13th, Downieville has the annual Antique Bottles & Collectibles Show & Sale fom 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Downieville School Gym. You can contact Rick & Cherry Simi for more information at (530) 289-3659. This year, we're offering a special rate to Bottles & Collectibles Show visitors!
